Top 5 Interesting Facts of Russia's S-400 Defense System.
1. Russia S-400 is an upgraded version of the S-300 defense system. It is an anti-air weapon defense system manufactured by Fakel Machine-Building Design Bureau and designed by Almaz-Antey, Russian state-owned company.
2. It is an anti-aircraft defense system that is designed to destroy or target air weapons which include Fighter jets, Drones, missiles etc types of air weapons.

3. Russia's S-400 defense system has 3 different types of missile launchers that are capable of engaging 36 targets at a time and launching 72 missiles simultaneously.

4. The deal of these 5 units of advanced long range S-400 defense systems between India and Russia was finalized in October 2018 for Rs 40,000 crore ($5 billion) and these 5 units of defense systems will be available to India by the end of 2021.

Why is India taking only the S-400 defense system?
Like we told you that India needs a better defense system at this time, so India is buying Russia’s S-400 defense system. But in this world, not only Russia had offered India to buy S-400 defense systems, there were other countries which offered India to buy their country’s defense system.
Israel offers India its most reliable air defense system, the "Iron Dome" and along with this, America also gave India its "Thaad" Defense System. But India did not show the slightest interest in taking both the defense systems. The biggest reason behind them is that the range of these defense systems is very low. The range of Iron Dome is 70 Km, which is very less from India’s area point of view and as far as America’s Thar Defense system, its range is 150-200 km which is fine but doesn’t meet India’s requirements. That’s why India took the decision to buy the S-400 defense system of Russia.
Till now this defense system has been bought by Turkey. China has also bought this defense system but got only a 300 km range defense system instead of 400 Km range. By the end of 2021, this defense system will also be with India.
